recapture youth

This is the first project I completed for my art journal class. I just signed up for the class on Monday, so I am a couple weeks behind, but I just wanted to jump right in and do this weeks assignment. I will catch up on the others later. I read this weeks topic and just had all these really cool ideas come to me, so I just went with it. This piece is about recapturing youth. Lately I've been feeling the weight of so much responsibility, and have been craving a break. Last month I took the kids to a skating party, and got to put on a pair of skates and take a lap. Ever since then I have been dying to get back out there. Lots of good memories of skating when I was a kid. Just want to be a kid again, well, act like a kid for a few hours. Anyways... here it is...

I enjoyed seeing your "recapture youth" artwork. I hope you enjoy your journal class. Art journaling is a great way to leave memories behind for your family, and it's also good therapy for getting through all the challenges of being a Mom, wife, house manager, and, well.. you know! ;)
